Rooted in Motion

A passion project rooted in the belief that access to movement is a a matter of equity, autonomy, and belonging.

The Mindset

Movement has long been treated as something exclusive: confined to studios, memberships, and systems that are not accessible to everyone. Rooted in Motion exists to challenge that idea by creating spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel supportive, inclusive, and community-centred.

Through gentle movement practices, shared meals, and intentional gatherings, Rooted in Motion invites people to slow down, breathe, and return to themselves. These spaces are not about performance or perfection, but about cultivating a sense of grounding, care, and connection both within ourselves and with others.

I believe that the ability to move, rest, and care for our bodies should be accessible to all. When people have spaces where they feel welcome in their bodies and in community, something powerful begins to grow.

Past Experiences

Yoga + Lunch - March 29
CA$0.00

This gathering is an invitation to slow down.

Many daughters of immigrants, especially eldest daughters, grow up learning how to hold a lot, responsibility, expectations, and the quiet work of caring for others. This event is an intentional space to set some of that down and reconnect with yourself in community.

We will begin with a gentle one-hour yoga practice, focused on grounding, breath, and releasing tension from the body. Afterwards, we’ll share a simple lunch and tea, creating time to rest, connect, and be in conversation with other women who understand the experience of carrying so much.

This is an intentional space rooted in movement, wellness, and community care.

Yoga guided by Shehla. Learn more about her here.
